2015 Ford Mustang right hand drive
Since the first showing at the 1964 New York World’s Fair, the pony car instantly became a obsession of Americans. Mustang will be turning 50 in the next few months. Before the model officially turns half century on April 17, 2014, Ford will launch brand-new 2015 Mustang. Nothing kept attention for 50 years as Ford Mustang did it in US. What is impressing, Mustang continues to gain offshore admirers. But, the plan to sell the 2015 Ford Mustang globally, and to appease overseas buyers, the vehicle will need to be lighter and more efficient. But we can’t dare to say it that traditional fans, which will be great disappointment to them.
2015 Ford Mustang new market
The 2015 Ford Mustang should be available to right-hand-drive markets, such as England, Japan and Australia. For the first time in the Mustang’s history, those countries will have the design of the new-generation muscle car. In August, Ford’s executive Alan Mulally, during his visit to Australia, officialy confirmed that his company will come to the Aussie market with the new Mustang. For more information he was tight lipped. One thing is sure – this will be the first time a factory – built right – hand – drive version muscle car will be sole in Australia in almost half century, since late 1960s. There were Mustangs in Aussie market earlier. Back in 2001 to 2003, Ford Australia converted a small number of Mustangs. But it’s price of $90,000 was just too much even for the biggest fans of the pony cars.
2015 Mustang right hand drive redesign
With the 2015 Mustang we expect brand new independent rear suspension for the first time ever (except the 1999–2004 SVT Cobra).
For the new generation of Mustangs it was announced that model will adopt a more global design. Lighter components will be in use, so the car weight should drop for about 100 kg. This will make better fuel economy, which is strictly regulated in countries with right hand drive.
Exterior and interior will be redesigned for its new generation. But we suppose Ford wouldn’t be experimenting too much. Long hood/short deck combination is expected. Sharp upper and lower quarter panels will be carried from current model. The major redesign will come as a drop of the car’s overall weight and length. Interior shouldn’t have some revolutionary changes from current models.
2015 Mustang right hand drive engine
The engine lineup for the 2015 Mustang will not differ much from the current V-6 and V-8, so we expect to get those for the right hand drive markets. First one, 3.6L V-6 will produce 305 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque. Second option is the 5.0L V-8 which should deliver 412 horsepower and 530 Nm of torque. Third option will be powerfull V-8, which may get direct injection. There are some rumors swirling about a new 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine with 350 horsepower.
